District Wildlife Manager Pat Tucker has informed me he knows of no t&e wildlife
species use of your lease modification area. ,
You also inquired about t&e or rare vegetation. Our agency has no management responsibility for
vegetation. However, a relatively new program at Colorado State University, the Colorado Natural
Heritage Program, maintains a comprehensive database of records of flora and fauna of Colorado
including data collected by our agency. I requested a search of their records and they also found no
known occurences of rare, sensitive or t&e flora or fauna on your mine property. However, they
cautioned that information is extremely scarce for that part of Colorado. Rare, sensitive or t&e
vegetation could be present and we just don't have information specific to your property.
You may wish to contact Mr. Rick Krueger, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service which does have
management authority for t&e flora and fauna. He may be contacted at (970)243-2778, 764 Horizon
Drive, South Annex A, Grand Junction, CO 81506. If I may be of further assistance, please contact
me at the address and phone number in Grand Junction.
I
Bill Clark
. xc: Bob Clark, Pat Tucker, Kevin Essington (CNHP), Rick Krueger (USFWS)
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, James Lothhead, Executive Director
WILDLIFE COMMISSION, Arnold Salazar, Chairman • Rebecca Frank, Vice-Chair • Mark LeValley, Secretary Jul}- 199 ~
Louts Swig, Member • Jesse Langston Boyd, Jr., Member • John Slulp, Member • James R.
