VEGETATION INFORMATION <br /> <br />Eaisfing Plant Communities <br />EXHIBIT J <br />The two Savage and Savage reports found in Appendix D address the vegetation which exists in the <br />permit azea, as well as wetlands and wildlife use. Other than the thin slivers of drainage canals and a <br />small marsh wetland which exists on the east border of the site, the azea is primarily an abandoned <br />irrigation site which has been returned to dry rangeland. Some russian olives and tamarisks have <br />invaded in a few patches and some other drought-resistant shrubs such as rubber rabbitbrush, big <br />sagebrush, black greasewood aze also present. Weeds such as thistle and knapweed aze also present. <br />The grasses consist of alkali sacaton meadow fescue and inland saltgrass. <br />The ground cover for the permit area averages approximately 10%-20% depending upon the exact <br />location. <br />See Savage and Savage reports in Appendix D. <br />i <br />is Road Pit io/02 43 <br />
