SOILS INFORMATION EXHIBIT I <br />The Mesa County Soil Survey performed by the NRCS covers the permit area. The soils map and <br />associated soils type descriptions aze enclosed in Appendix B. <br />The primary soils of the site are: <br />1) "Be" Green River Silty Clay loam <br />2) " Tr" Turley very deep well-drained loam <br />3) "Rc" Fruitland Sandy Clay loam <br />4) "Gm" Green River Clay loam <br />5) "Gk" Bebeevaz loam <br />Due to the proximity of the floodplain and flat nature of the terrain, soils are fairly developed and <br />could be salvaged to a depth of at least lfoot if needed. However, since the majority of the site will <br />• be restored to lakes, there is no need to salvage more soil than that required to place an 8 inch depth <br />on the edges of the lakes and the flat areas. The flat azeas will be designated as commer- <br />cial/industrial use. The salvage amount is approximately 86,000 cubic yazds. <br /> <br />It is planned that the top 8" of soil be salvaged for storage in the three stockpiles shown on Map C-2. <br />All topsoil piles will be seeded immediately after they are created with the same dry land mix shown <br />in the reclamation plan. <br />15 Road Pit 10/02 <br />42 <br />
