REYEGETATION 3IJCC~,SS CP<IT~+ 1~2IA <br />Since the pre-mine site is basically dry rangeland of relatively poor cover and production, and the <br />post-mining use of the staging area is industrial, no strict vegetation success criteria is warranted. It <br />is suggested that the vegetation of the industrial pads be approximately 10% live perennial cover. <br />Since the Fruita area receives less than 10 inches annually, no more than this cover can be expected. <br />The wetland areas should be restored to typical wetland covers of at least 50% live perennial cover. <br />The revegetated area will be monitored for success of reclamation until accepted by the Division. If <br />revegetation failures occur prior to release, an analysis of the site will be made and the area will be <br />revegetated again as necessary. <br />9. MONITORING RECLAMATION SUCCESS <br />Monitoring the reclamation on an ongoing basis will help to assure successful reclamation. The op- <br />erator plans to use the local NRCS office in Mesa County to assist in determining the ability of the <br />reclaimed land to control erosion and any other suggestions which may enhance the reclamation of <br />the site. If minor changes or modifications are needed to the seeding and reclamation plan, revision <br />plans will be submitted to the Division as required. It is hoped that the Division will provide assis- <br />tance in evaluating the success of the ongoing reclamation process. All areas disturbed and re- <br />claimed and any other important items regarding the reclamation will be submitted in the annual re- <br />ports to the Division. <br />i• <br />15 Road Pit 10/02 30 <br />
