Thornton, Colorado Cooley Gravel South Dahlia Pit <br />SLURRY WALL LINED GRAVEL PIT RESERVOIR <br />Hall-Irvin Construction and Rocky Mountain <br />Consultants, Inc. (RMC) provided complete <br />design/build services for a slurry wall liner for a <br />gravel pit reservoir. <br />The site is located within the Denver Metro Area <br />along the South Platte River. The work consisted <br />of lining a working gravel pk with a 13,000-foot <br />long slurry wall. The slurry wall had an average <br />depth of 30 feet with a maximum depth of 40 feet. <br />The total finished reservoir capacity was <br />approximately 2,000 acre-feet. <br />The work was performed for Cooley Gravel <br />Company (Contact: Rick Mergers at 303-989- <br />0300). The work was completed in June, 1994. <br />The reservoir was purchased by the City of <br />Thornton in 1998 (Contact: Mark Koleber at 303- <br />538-7406).
