appropriate grasses and plants. It is our feeling that this would be the best
method to fully comply with the guidelines of the Soil Conservation Service.
6. In response to your question regarding the milling process, I would
inform you that we plan to wet screening in a wet gravity concentration.
7. In response to your question regarding the scheduling of the mining
we would again refer you to the new map provided, which has labeled the stages
as Phase I and the more solid materials as Phase 2. As we discussed on the phone,
we do not have a definite date when mining would terminate, it would simply be
for the life of the mine. The date of completion is indefinite at this time.
8. In response to your question regarding water for the placer
opertion we would inform you that the source for the water are springs and
natural runoff. The appropriate springs are being filed on at this time and
will be ajudicated in the name of Blue Jet Mining, Inc. The water is to be
contained in a pond which has an earth and rock dam and a shield of bentonite.
We will pump needed water from the pond up through the mining operation and it
will drain back into the pond and be used over and over again with no discharge
into any other water sources of any kind.
9. In response to your request regarding whether or not adjacent
land owners are touching the borders of the mining operation, we would inform
you that the B.L.M. is the only land owner that directly touches the borders
of the mining operation. The property owned by Bob Arambell does not border
on the mining operation itself. I am also enclosing the Affidavit of Publication
from the Daily Press which shows the date the public notice was published. I am
including receipt for certified mail IIP23 024689 showing letter was sent to Bob
Arambell, 221 Aspen Way, Rock Springs, Wyoming 82901 on April 22, 1980. I am
also enclosing receipt for certified mail IfP23 024688 showing letter addressed
to Bureau of Land Management, 455 Emerson, Craig, Colorado 81625 mailed on April
22, 1980. This indicates that the notices were sent to each of these parties.
10. In response to your statement that big sagebrush seed need not be
added to the seed mix as recommended by the District Wildlife Pianager, we
acknowledge that and will comply with your desires.
II. We believe that we have responded above to your requests for
S.C.S. mulching, planting, seed mixture and acknowledge that it will be followed
and we feel that we have responded to your request for additional information on
water useage. We also feel confident that the cross-sections showing the terracing
and final sloping should be adequate in that regard.
If I can be of any further assistance to you please let me know.
Sincerely yours,
JDO/co
"~/ I ~i~Q
James D.
