Dept. cf i~'atural i,e:;o~.acrs <br />Re: Blue Jet 111 Mine your file 1178-135/HR <br />In response to your letter of April 15, 1480, Blue Jet Mining, Inc. <br />submits the following information: <br />I. A previous permit application was submitted on or about April 19, <br />1978 which was subsequently withdrawn. The correct legal description is as it <br />has been filed with the present application which was filed with your office on <br />or about March 13, 1980. The legal description as set forth in the present <br />application is the correct legal description. <br />2. Slopes for the various mining operations should be considered <br />horizontal to vertical. There are errors in Exhibit B and I will verify these <br />at this time. On page 2 of Exhibit B any rock or solid walls will be maintained <br />at a slope of .5:~ as stated therein any loose or consolidated material will be <br />maintained at a slope of 2.5:1. The next sentence should read as follows: "At <br />this time it would be anticipated that the mining in the present exploratory pit <br />would be of a fairly solid nature so the slope in that area would, in all prob- <br />ability, be maintained at a .5:1 slope, where/tee placer mining would be, in all <br />probability, _- maintained at a 2.5:] slope. <br />3. In response to your question regarding the location of the pond <br />I would refer you to the new map which is submitted herewith. As you can see <br />the pond is located within the mining boundaries and is located in that area <br />labeled Phase 1. <br />4. In response to your statement that the topsoil stockpiled for one <br />growing season or longer should be planted with a fast growing perennial cover <br />grass, we acknowledge that this is necessary and it is out intent to comply fully <br />with this request. <br />5. In response to your question regarding terracing of the pit, please <br />refer to the cross-sectional diagram submitted herewith. It is our intent to <br />reclaim the mined area by terracing it, retopsoiling it and planting it back to <br />
