Sites 6, 7, 8, 9 &10 <br />would be drilled at the terminus of overland travel to the designated sites. The most direct route <br />to drill sites would be taken while minimizing damage to vegetation. Routes would be flagged <br />prior to travel. <br />An existing road would be upgraded to access drill sites 11 and 12. The road contains numerous <br />areas where erosion has made the road impassable. These areas would be repaired; the road <br />would not be widened and the road grade would not be changed. No surfacing would be placed <br />on the upgraded road. <br />Drilling would be by auger methods with samples obtained by split spoon methods. The auger <br />holes would be approximately 4.5 inches in diameter and range in depth from 25 to 100 feet, <br />with an average depth of 50 feet. Drill holes not completed as monitoring wells would be <br />backfilled with cuttings to within 10 feet of the ground surface and a cement plug would be <br />placed from the top of the cuttings to within 3 feet of the ground surface.
