• After completion of each of the 166 locations, and after the hole has been properly
plugged or monitor well completed, excess cuttings will be dispersed around the drill
site, and all debris will be hauled from the location site to an approved public landfill
dump. The location will then be revegetated, when necessary, with types of legume and
grass so stated in the Exploration and Reclamation Plan. For Reclamation Bond
Calculations see Exhibit "E".
Measures to be taken to Prevent or Control Fire, Soil, Erosion, Pollution of Surface and
Ground Water, Pollution of Air, Damage to Wildlife or Livestock, Damage to other Natural
Resources, and Hazards to Public Health and Safety. Each drill will be equipped with the
necessary fire fighting equipment, that is, fire extinguishers and shovels. If the area
should become excessively dry, and the fire potential becomes too great, the drilling will
be postponed until conditions improve.
Soil erosion will be controlled by the following methods: All proposed drill sites will
be located such that none of them will fall within a stream bed or drainage bottom;
• traversing steep slopes with the drilling equipment will be prohibited; use of existing
roads and trails will be made to the fullest extent; should the area receive excessive
moisture or if ex cessive thaw should occur, drilling operations will be halted until the
area is adequatel y dry or the ground is again frozen.
All exploration sites will be located so that none will be located closer than 100 feet
from existing dams, ponds, springs, or water wells. If water and drilling mud are used,
water will be obtained from the negotiation with local ranchers. The drilling fluid will
be contained at the drill site within a metal sump, and then placed back into the drill
hole after completion. All aquifers, regardless of depth, will be sealed from the bottom
of the hole to at least 20 feet above the aquifer zone, or to the surface, whichever is
appropriate.
All trash will be hauled to a public dump so that there will be no burning of trash in the
field to contribute to air pollution and fire. The drill rig and motor vehicles in the
area will be required to have mufflers to reduce the air and noise pollution. All
equipment shall be removed from the area promptly after completion of all phases of
. exploration and reclamation.
3
