ABSTRACT <br />• On July 20, 1979, Seneca Coals Limited contracted with ]Vestern Cultural Resource <br />Management, inc. (iCCRB7), to conduct a cultural resource inventory of 1413 acres in <br />sections 8, 17, 18, 19, 20, 29, and 30, Township SN and Range 871V, in Routt County, <br />Colorado on land intended for impact by the proposed Yoast Coal Mine of the Seneca <br />Coals Limited. From October 1 through 5, 1979, and from June 13 through 14, 1980, <br />6VCRM conducted the requested cultural resource inventory. <br />Three historic sites (SRT163, 165, and 166), one aboriginal site (5RT164), and four <br />aboriginal isolated finds (SRT167-I70) were located within the indirect impact zone of <br />the ]ease boundary; no cultural resources were encountered in the direct impact zone. <br />None of the remains is considered significant or eligible to the National Register of <br />Historic Places. No further work is recommended for SRT163-170. <br />This inventory was conducted under Colorado State Permit numbers 79-47 (expired <br />December 31, 1979), 80-10 (expired December 31, 1980), Professional Services <br />Antiquities Permit 78-CO-124 (expired August 17, 1979), and 80-CO-016 (expired January <br />• 28, 1981). <br />• <br />viii <br />
