9 <br />• GScK-AC generally classifies prehistoric end historic remains in the <br />following manner: <br />Prehistoric site - activity locus consisting of structural remains and <br />or Siva or more artifacts including lithic debitage, contained <br />within a radius of fifteen meters. <br />Prehistoric locality - activity locus lacking structural remains and <br />containing two to Sour artifacts including lithic debitage, within <br />a fifteen meter radius. <br />Prehistoric isolated find (IF) - a single artifact that cannot be demonstrated <br />to be within close enough proximity to a prehistoric site or locality <br />to allow cultural or temporal association to be hypothesized. <br />Historic site - activity locus consisting of structural remains and/or <br />a concentration of historic debris (i. e. a midden not associated <br />with a structure mays if large and varied enough, or if obviously <br />~ multi-componenet~ be considered a site; a scatter of ten tin cans <br />would not). <br />• Historic locality - activity locus consisting of structural remains and <br />or containing a few scattered artifacts, usually definable in terms <br />of a specific activity (e. g. the remains of a wagon, sawdust and <br />debris from loggir;g activity several pieces of debris representing <br />an overnight camp, etc.). <br />Historic isolated find (IF) - a single artifact that cannot be demonstrated <br />to be within suffiecient proximity to an historic site or locality to <br />allow association to be hypothesized. <br />Colorado State Archaeological Site Irnentory forms are completed for all <br />sites (and are accompanied by BIM corer sheets where appropriate). Historic sites <br />are additionally recorded on Colorado Historical Society, Department of Historic <br />Preservation Inventory forms. Localities and isolated finds are recorded on G3K-AC <br />Isolated Furl forms (see Appendix A of this report). <br />Inventory results for drill holes the Hawk's Nest Mine area, the waste <br />disposal area, the Oliver Power Plant areas and additional survey areas will be <br />iscussed separately below. Re~ourve locations and descriptions appear in A}r <br />~ndix A oS this report. <br />
