Mr. Robert J. Olson - 4 - May 16, 1985
~f shrubs from seeds. To reduce erosion at this site, the Division encourages
the operator to add more grass species into the seed mixture. Also, the
operator should consider adding a legume (forb) species into the seed mixture
for its nitrogen -fixing attributes. Please consult the BLM for these
additional species.
Will the quarry face be benched or will there be one continuance slope no
steeper than 2:1? If one slope, please address how erosion will be curtailed.
It is the Division's understanding that backfilling will occurr against the
quarry face. Please address how slippage between the interface will not
create a long-term problem.
Please address the type and rate of mulches to be used, if any.
Please address the type and rate of fertilizers to be used, if any.
Please address the reclamation of the roads.
~s the Division correct in assuming all previous quarring activities will be
reclaimed by the operator?
E ibit F - Ma
Please submit four new maps accurately depicting the permit boundaries.
Exhibit G -Water Information
J
Will water have to be used for crushing purposes? If the S.C.S.
cannot perform the necessary survey, then the operator must find some "other
qualified person" to provide the required information. Please submit the
required soils information pursuant to Rule 2.12(9).
Exhibit J - Vegetation Information
Pursuant to Rule 2.12(10)(a), it is necessary to provide a quantitative
estimation of the cover of each principal species in each represented life
form.
