2.04.6(2)(a)(i) <br />"F" COAL SEAM <br />Although not included in this permit application, the "F" coal <br />seam does appear to be laterally continuous throughout the area. <br />The "F" coal seam varies in thickness from two to three feet and <br />stratigraphically is approximately 35 feet above the "E" coal seam. <br />The intervening material between the "E" and "F" coal seams does <br />provide an adequate permeability barrier to prevent communication <br />of groundwater between these two units. The Isopach Map-Alluvial <br />Pquifer, 2.04.5-3, and the Geologic Cross Sections Maps, 2.04.5-4 and 2.04.5-5, <br />illustrate, in cross section form, the stratigraphic relationships <br />of the units discussed previously. The units are nearly flatlying, <br />dipping three to'four degrees to the north-northeast with the "D", <br />"E', and "F" coal seams being laterally continuous throughout the <br />area, except when removed by erosion beneath the glacial outwash <br />and alluvial materials. <br />(ii) A geologic map with geologic cross sections. <br />•Pefer to Figures 2.04.5-16, 2.04.5-17, 2.04.5-1A, 2.04.5-19, 2.04.5-20, 2.04.5-21, <br />2.04.5-22, 2.04.5-23, 2.D4.5-24, and 2.04.5-25 for drill core data, arui the Geology <br />Map, 2.04.5-1, for ooal.crop lines and strike and dip of the opal to be mined.
