~J • Land Reclamation Board Page 2 June 27, 1974 We strip the area we are to mine, open the pit with a dragline, pump water out of the pit untill it is relatively dry and excavate with the dragline to full depth of the sand and gravel. Material is then truck hauled to our c~vshing, washing and sizing plant. Most of our production is used by ourself in concrete. We do not discharge either our pit pump water or wash water in the river. These vraters are pumped into prior pits and used for wash water and to maintain our pit levels. Our general plan is to leave a series of lakes in the area. These lakes to have interconnected land masses. The land mass to flu~nish road ways, open areas, camp- ing areas and office area to Fully develop the general area as a camping, hiking, fishing area. 2(i-j) A study of our requirements on a projected basis indicates we would work out the area we now own in 25 to 30 years. We have set up the operation in five year phases and drill work about 30 acres every five years. The attached maps show these phases and the area in each phase. These phases will be mined then trees and grass and., shrubs planted on the land masses not used for roads, fish planted in the lakes. The lakes will be connected by pipes to allow maintainence of water level and movement of fresh water. We own sufficient water rights to take care of the lakes. Timing on the above five year phases would be to start reclamation within one year of mining and complete within 2 years of mining in each phase. At total completion of all phases we would plan to look at the requirements of the general area and meet these at that time. This is a general plan which will in all probability change with the years. We therefore apply for a permit only on Phase (1) our first five year plan which covers 30 acres. Enclosed is our check for $500.00, to cover our permit fee. Toro copies of a set of maps are attached showing the requirements of 3(a to 1). Please advise of the amount of the required bond.
