-$-
• sized to contain all solutions in the heap, while operating solutions, 100
year, 24 hour storm event, and still maintain two feet of free board. Again,
they are double lined and they also have a leak detection system underneaih
it.
Waste materials from both pits will be deposited in various waste
disposal facilities. The initial waste from the West Pit will serve to
badcfill the East Pit and waste will variously be placed in Waste Disposals A,
B, C, and D on the north side of the Rito Seco and also transported to the
south waste rock disposal facility.
The County road will be relocated in a portion of the mining area, near
the East Pit. It will be relocated to the south side of the Rito Seco. The
County road relocation, tfie main haul road relocation, are the only areas
within the 100 year, 24 hour flood plain. There are flood plains identified
by the Colorado Water Conservation Board and tributaries which would pass
normally through the West Pit Area. Diversion ditches have been sized to
carry the 100 year, 24 hour event around the West Pit Areas, various it to
• sediment control structures before discharging into the Rito Sego.
As far as reclamation of the site goes, all of the waste rock disposal
facilities will be graded out to a 3 to 1 slope. The East Pit, as I
mentioned, will be badcfilled with waste from the West Pit. The West Pit will
be left open and we estimate that about seventy-five percent of 'the West Pit
is actually flat lying area due to the mining methods and the nature of the
ore deposit. So that seventy-five percent of the pit will be topsoiled and
revegetated.
All facilities will receive a minimum of eighteen inches of topsoil. The
Company will establish test plots on the site with varying depths of topsoil
to determine what is the optimal topsoil amount necessary to achieve maximum
reclamation of the site. We have undertaken geochemical analysis of the ore
materials and the waste rock materials, and have identified no hazardous or
toxic forming or acid forming materials on site. We do not anticipate any
metals mobilization, we do not anticipate any acid production from the waste
disposal facilities.
