area below Ditch No. 2 and route this flow to the sediment pond. The ditch
follows the contour until it reaches a location where the outlet will drain
into the pond. Ditch dimensions are similar to Ditch No. 3.
Collection Ditch No. 5
Ditch No. 5 is located above the soil substitute stockpile in the central part
of the disturbed area. This ditch is designed to collect runoff above the
stockpile and below Ditch No. 2. The head of the ditch begins in a drainage
and discharges into the sediment pond after crossing a haul road. Upon
construction of the haul road, a 12 inch diameter culvert will be installed to
replace the open ditch in this location. Ditch dimensions are similar to
Ditch No. 3.
Berm
To route drainage from the disturbed area into the sediment pond, a berm which
forms the outside (east) side of Ditch No. 1 will be constructed. This berm
forms a part of the drainage divide for surface drainage within the disturbed
area. The typical cross section for the berm is shown on Figure 4, Typical
Berm Cross Section.
Small Area Exemption
Temporary impoundment of runoff and snow melt in the southwest corner of the
facilities area will be utilized while mining operations are being conducted.

Revised 9/12/86
8
