• )i]TRODIICTION <br />On d",ay 13 and 14, 1981, Roger Johnson and Charles iS'heeler of SVCR\i perfa~med <br />a cultural resource inventory of approximately 9.5 acres of land managed by thenLl9 and <br />approximately 125.5 acres of land owned by the Colowyo Coal Company, for the Colo~vyo <br />Coal Company. The area surveyed is located approximately 'ZS miles south of Crai„ <br />Colorado. The legal description is as follows: <br />Township 3N, Range 93iV, Section 2 <br />NIV, of NL1';; LV: of NWa of NEa of NFV$; ,Vz of Si1'$ of NEi of NWa <br />- To~.vnship 3N, Range 931V, Section 2 <br />NE; of NEa; Nw3, <br />This area is shown on :1?aps 1 and 2 at the conclusion of this report. <br />The inventory located two sites within .tl~e survey boundaries: one historic site <br />consisting of structures and associated trash and one aboriginal lithic scatter. Since <br />• neither site is considered significant nor is expected to be impacted, a recommendation <br />of nor further work is made. <br />This report is prepared in compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act <br />oC 1956, the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, and meets all requirements of <br />Executive Order 11593 of 1971. <br />• <br />1 <br />
