The State permit area
boundaries were not established until December 1976
when Colowyo`s initial permit was approved. Surveys
within the permit area included the mine plan area, the
warehouse;"maintenance complex, and a transportaticn
corridor that extended part way up Taylor Creek. The
remaining permit area was not surveyed.
Colowyo has constructed virtually all of the mine
support facilities which include the main access road,
the Gossard loadout, water supply system, administration
building, warehouse/maintenance complex, etc. i',e do
not anticipate that there will be any additional
disturbance outside the mine plan area. [9e would
pxopose that if any additional disturbance is required
in the permit area that an archaeological survey be
completed prior to initiating any surface disturbing
activity.
A discussion of the impacts is also included in the
t4orthwest Colorado Coal Environmental Impact Statement.
A copy of Page GIII - 15 of the site specific analysis
• which contains this discussion is enclosed.
