Note: NRCS Technician assumed that 9.1 acres would be seeded. In reality, only 5.8
acres are being disturbed and seeded. The total PLS required for reclamation is 5.8 acres
x 8.6 #/acre = 49.88 total pounds of per live seed. The costs for seed are taken directly
from the Pawnee Butte Seed Company price list.
Reclamation Note: It should be noted that the proposed pit area akeady sits at a very low
elevation compared to County Road BB. Side slopes for pit reclamation will be a
minimum of 3:1, but those slopes will begin at a point which already lies 15-20' below
the roadway. Mr. Bennett should be not be held to creating a 3:1 slope back to the edge
of the right-of--way of Road BB. The existing slope from the road right-of--way to where
the pit will start is very steep before any mining occurs.
