on Permit Renewal Map 5. The area to be disturbed is approximately 12 acres
• in size, and topsoil will be salvaged from the site prior to placing any
coal in the area. The topsoil can be salvaged to an approximate depth of 24
inches in this area. Therefore, approximately 38,700 CY of topsoil will be
picked up and placed in the two stockpiles adjacent to the area. The
stockpile will be stabilized with the approved topsoil seed mixture.
The existing sediment control system will be utilized to control runoff form
the site. presently, drainage from this area drains into ponds B and D, and
will continue to do so after the storage pad is completed. A segment of
Ditch B-1 will be filled in and replaced by a "temporary" ditch that will
move up the hillside as the pile expands. The "temporary" ditch will be
constructed to the same specifications as the original ditch.
The original B-1 ditch will be backfilled with earthen material, or it may
be backfilled with gravel and a drain pipe. If this drain were constructed
it would drain into the remaining section of ditch B-1.
• The storage pad will require minor levelling to make if functional. This
typically would involve the use of a blade or dozer to level the pad, and
upon reclamation this levelling would typically occur on the side slopes,
and these slopes would be reestablished during reclamation of the site. The
final reclamation will inc•l.ude g d l?g, ,topsoil redistribution,7and seeding
the area. ~ ~ ~J ----_-. ___,/
- - ___~
Along with construction of the storage pad, a ramp will be constructed on
the north side of the existing truck dump to provide greater access to the
truck dump. Approximately 1500 CY of fill material will be required to
construct the ramp. This material will be borrowed from the adjacent
disturbed area or hauled down from Area 61. When the ramp is reclaimed the
1__ - -
ramp fill material will be-graded out and blended in with the surrounding
area.
---`_
The storage area and ramp will be reclaimed when the tipple facility is no
longer required for processing run of mine coal. The area will be returned
• to rangeland and planted with the appropriate seed mixture.
MR 90-48 780-35(b) Revised 04/12/90
