The Division recommends that aIZ topsoil stockpiles that will remain <br />undisturbed for longer than one growing season, be stabilized with a <br />suitable cover of vegetation, mulch, or other material. <br />6. The operator is requested to include plans to rip compacted areas <br />prior to topsoil application (e. g., parking, building vehicle turn <br />around areas, etc.). Additionally, all areas receiving topsoil on the <br />pit slopes should be ripped to a depth of 18 inches to bind the topsoil <br />to the subsoil or parent material. <br />7. Please submit a wildlife report from the Colorado Division of wildlife <br />which indicates potential impacts of the operation on wildlife species <br />and habitat. <br />8. Please address how the applicant plans to monitor and control annuals <br />(weeds). <br />9. The Division recommends a small diversion to route ovezland flow <br />away from the topsoil stockpile located by the unmined portion of the <br />slope bo~ardiny the proposed southern permit limits. <br />10. Per our informal meetings, please submit a revised map showing the <br />acreage to be deleted from the proposed permit boundary, along with <br />revised bonding calculations. <br />The Afined Land Reclamation Board will consider this application at the <br />May 26-27, 1982 Board meeting.
