Adverse impacts to the surface water hydrology have been minimized by
channeling the runoff from all disturbed land within the proposed
permit area into Sedimentation Pond E before being released into Fish
Creek. The location of the tipple in relation to the sediment control
structures currently existing within the proposed permit area are
shown on Map 5, Fish Creek Tipple Hydrology and Map 15, Fish Creek
Tipple Surface Support Facilities and Structures. A disturbance of
approximately 17 acres is associated with the tipple access roads,
coal stockpiles, and Pond E.
Should other coal reserves in the vicinity be mined, the Fish Creek
Tipple could be utilized. The Division will be notified of any such
plans.
Once mining in the area terminates, the entire tipple facility will be
dismantled and removed from the site. Reclamation of disturbed land
within the Fish Creek Tipple permit area will be conducted according
• to the plan presented under Rule 2.05.4.
Standard maintenance procedures including preventive maintenance
programs, painting and lubrication shall be utilized throughout the.
life of all structures within the proposed permit area.
~ A description of each road, conveyor, or rail system to be
constructed, used, or maintained within the proposed permit area. The
description shall include a map, prepared in accordance with 2.10,
appropriate cross-sections, and the following:
(i) Specifications for each road width, road gradient, road
surface, road cut, fill embankment, culvert, bridge, drainage ditch, and
drainage structure.
(ii) A report of appropriate geotechnical analysis, where
approval of the Division is required for alternative specifications, or for
steep cut slopes under 4.03.2(1)(3), or 4.03.2(3)(c).
2.05-6
