~~~. e k T. PPi-e-
Revised April 5, 1985
the requirements of Rule 4.05. The sediment control system for the
proposed permit area was designed to safely pass the peak runoff from
a 10-year, 24-hour precipitation event. Calculations are included in
Exhibit 8, Sedimentation Pond Design. Sediment control structures are
discussed in detail under Rule 2.05.6(3).
Supplemental erosion control devices are not expected to be needed
within the disturbed portions of the proposed permit area, However,
should a problem arise, exposed surfaces will be stabilized with one
or more measures that reduce overland flow velocity, decrease runoff
volume, or trap sediment.
Surfacing
The haulroad was resurfaced during the summer of 1983 with 8 inches of
pit run and 4 inches of 3/4" minus. Materials used to upgrade the
haulroad have proven to be sufficiently durable with proper
• maintenance. No acid - or - toxic forming substances exist within the
haulroad surfacing materials.
Maintenance
Twentymile Coal Company has a continuous road maintenance program that
consists of blading the surface, dressing the shoulders, cleaning the
ditches, watering for dust control and repairing the drainage and
erosion control devices as needed. This maintenance program will
protect both the road and adjacent areas.
Reclamation
The haulroad within the permit boundary will be reclaimed in
accordance with Rule 4.03.1(7), immediately after the road is no
longer needed for operations, reclamation, or monitoring. Surfacing
materials will be disposed of in accordance with Rule 4.11.4. Natural
drainage patterns will be restored with all culverts removed. The
road bed will be rounded and shaped to conform with the surrounding
2.05-11
