5) As noted above, there is a four wheel drive trail crossing the land between BLM parcels. The
Reclamation Plan states that the trail will be re-established with other reclamation efforts. Staff
would advise the applicant and BLM discuss a permanent relocation of the trail. Experience has
shown that motorized traffic trails through areas under reclamation cause more problems than
they solve.
6) Please find enclose Office of State Engineer comments concerning this proposed project. Please
respond directly to the OSE and Cc a copy to the Division for the permit record.
7) Per your request received this date, please find enclosed a copy of the letter accepting the
application as complete on November 8th, 2006.
This is a Preliminary Review of the application and should not be considered as final requirements for a
Decision. The Division may need to review other issues as presented or discovered during the entire
review process which must be addressed prior to any final decision.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South Third Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, telephone no. 970-241-1117.
Sincerely,
/~
G.
