Site Description (coot) Exhibit B <br />VEGETATION INFORMATION <br />1. Current cover percent is: 45 to 658 <br />2. Topsoil depth on site averages: 10 to 12 inches <br />3. Seeding dates recommended: October 15 to May 1. <br />4. Fertilizer, if needed: Phosphate @ 40 lb/ac and nitrogen @ <br />40 lb/ac. <br />5. Seeding recommendation for area: <br />Non-Irrigated grass seed recommendation <br />Switchgrass (Pathfinder) 0.25 <br />Little Bluestein (Pasture) 0.35 <br />Big Bluestein (Kaw) 0.825 <br />Sideoats grama (Vaughn) 0.675 <br />Green Needlegrass 0.375 <br />Yellow sweet clover 0.35 <br />Blue Flax 0.04 <br />5.2651 <br />This seed mix and rates was prepared by the local NRCS <br />office at our request. it is a combination of native grasses and <br />forbs that has proven successful on other sites in the vicinity <br />of this mine. The seed will be drilled where possible and <br />doubled if broadcast. The site is currently part of a ridgline <br />located in a Loamy Park range site unit found in western Las <br />Animas County. It is a mountain meadow with no special or unique <br />characteristics with mostly grass and forbs covering the area. <br />Average annual production is approximately 2100 pounds per acre. <br />Tall grasses make up approximately 608 of the vegetative cover <br />and the plant community is 75 to 90 percent grasses and 10 to 25 <br />percent forbs, trees and brush. <br />The species of vegetation found on the site are Arizona <br />fescue, Thurber's fescue, Parry danthonia, Slender wheatgrass, <br />Western wheatgrass, Bluegrass, Mountain brome and Mountain muhly. <br />These grass species makeup 85$ to 908, by weight, of the vegeta- <br />tion found on the site. <br />NOTE: 1/ Indicated rate if drilled. The mixtures will be doubled if <br />broadcast. <br />9 <br />
