replacement depth is 6 inches. Please revise your reclamation plan accordingly. In the future, if
the 111 permits are terminated or revised, these replacement depths may be adjusted to allow for
a more even distribution of overburden and topsoil across the site. This may be especially
important since the soil survey indicates the eastern half of this site may have only a couple of
inches of topsoil over the gravel.
9. Please specify what the proposed final grade of the pit floor will be.
10. Response adequate.
11. Response adequate.
12. Response adequate.
13. Response adequate.
14. Response adequate.
Exhibit F -Reclamation Plan Mao
15. The Reclamation Plan Map needs to be revised to indicate:
• all areas to be affected by mining operations and areas to be revegetated (currently the
proposed post mining contours indicate that only a small portion of the acreage in sections
3 and 10, above 6200 feet elevation, will be disturbed and require reclamation, though
Map C-2 shows the excavation face extending down to the 6160 elevation);
• consistent and appropriate contour intervals (the contour intervals on these maps jump
from 40 feet to 10 feet. all should be 10 feet interval or less to illustrate how all drainage
wiN be directed to the one settling pond on the west boundary);
• stormwater and sediment control features (show proposed berms with appropriate
topography to demonstrate that runoff from affected areas will be directed to the settling
pond);
• stated overburden and topsoil replacement depths (revised for corrections required on the
areas overlapping the 111 permit areas).
Exhibit G -Water Information
16. Please provide an estimate of water use requirements for the operation, including flow rates and
annual volumes for dust control on processing equipment (sprayers) and the mining processing
area operations. Please include the specific source of the water to be consumed and specify if
the rights to that water are applicable to an industrial consumptive use.
Exhibit H -Wildlife Information
17. Colorado Division of Wildlife maps indicate that this proposed mine site lies within mule deer
severe winter range. With this in mind, DMG highly recommends that the amount of acreage
disturbed at any one time during this operation be kept to a minimum. Additionally, it is
recommended that the seed mix be revised to include some seed for native shrub species
palatable to deer. The DOW should be contacted for species and planting rate
recommendations.
