-12-
MS. WINTER: My understanding is this is going to be the second largest,
or it's going to be a very large mining operation. So it is not ;lust anybody
mining.
MR. O'CONNOR: That's true.
MS. WINTER: And if there are considerable citizens, it's difficult for
that many oeoole to come up here. Just a thought.
MR. DANIEL SON: Maybe we could leave it up to Fred's discretion to look
at the budget and the scheduling and what else is on the Agenda, and I think
you realize we'd like to, we haven't had our field trip this last year, and we
should think about that. Can you just do your best to try to accammodate all
that?
MR. BANTA: Most likely what we would do, we'll check the budget, but we
would try to get the State Patrol airplane to fly the Board down there and
back uo in a day.
MR. HOLDER: We haven't had a civilized lunch in three months.
MR. DANIELSON: There is a motion and a second, that we in deference to
these concerns schedule a oublic hearing at a location to be determined by the
staff. Is there any further discussion? All in favor? It's unanimous. I
would note one thing, Mr. Massey, which is that I would hone that the company
would be willing to meet with any of these local citizens in advance of the
oublic hearing to share information. You may have done that already.
MR. MASSEY: We've had a whole series of public education meetings with
the local commissioners, local government officials, and the oubli: over the
course of the (inaudible) months, and we again remain ready and willing to
conduct more education meetings with Board and other groups.
MR. GALL EGOS: Thank you very much, we appreciate it.
