6.3.3 (h) <br />There will not be any water required for this operation because it is a clean scoop and <br />load operation. If water usage is required for dust suppression, it will be purchased from <br />the Town of Florence Municipal Water System and hauled to the site via water truck. <br />Florence has acoin-operated delivery system. If water from Florence is unavailable, <br />water will be hauled in from Canon City or Colorado Springs. Any water used on this <br />project will be from a legal water source. <br />6.3.3 (i) <br />Ground water or surface water should not be intercepted or disturbed. This is a proposed <br />dry pit operation. <br />The applicant is committed not to interfere with ground water in anyway by not <br />excavating deeper than the groundwater level and allowing for a substantial gap between <br />the groundwater level and the depth of excavation. The operator will adjust the depth of <br />excavation, as he gets closer to Hazdscrabble Creek, to avoid exposing groundwater. The <br />applicant understands that if ground water is exposed, the operation must cease <br />immediately and the applicant must seek remedial action through a substitute water plan <br />or augmentation plan <br />For storm water run-off control, please see Exhibit E. The storm water will follow the <br />natural positive flow drainage towards Hazdscrabble Creek. A check dam and/or riprap <br />will be placed along the lower end of the site to de-silt and de-trash any storm water <br />before it goes into Hazdscrabble Creek. Silt fencing and straw bales will be used to avoid <br />sedimentation into the creek. The nature of the soils materials in the area will allow for <br />relatively quick infiltration. No storm water will be retained on the properly. <br />There will be no chemical treatment. <br />6.3.3 (j) <br />There will not be any water required for this mine. Any water used on this project will be from a legal water source <br />The operator understands that if there is any injury to any existing water right, the <br />operator will comply with the applicable Colorado water laws and regulations pertaining <br />to injury to existing water rights. <br />If water is used, the injured water right will be avoided by utilizing a substitute supply <br />plan as outlined by the Colorado Division of Water Resources. <br />
