It was stated that topsoil from nearby farmland would be utilized for reclamation. Disturbance of additional acreage would need to be permitted, as it would constitute a borrow operation. Disturbance of additional acreage is discouraged. It is suggested that "fines" resulting from the washing operation be amended and used to supplement on-site available topsoil. 5. A) I suggest that 2 lbs. PLS/Acre of Western Wheatgrass, a native, cool-season flood tolerant grass species be included in the revegetation seed mixture. The species comprising the proposed mixture are all warm-season grasses fairly, or poorly, adapted to flooding conditions. I also suggest the addition of 1/2 lb. PLS/Acre of Yellow Sweetclover, a legume known for its high nutrition and nitrogen-fixing capabilities. B) What tree species are planned for use in revegetation? Please note those species indicated as "suitable" in the S.C.S. soil surveys submitted. Exhibit H - Reclamation Costs 1. Please provide calculations demonstrating the estimated costs incurred by a third-party (local contractor) to conduct reclamation efforts outlined in the Reclamation plan, such that the State of Colorado maintains adequate funds to reclaim the site if the site is abandoned.
