Seeding: The method of seeding will be a
suitable grass drill capable of planting
the necessary species. Refer to the
attached form CO-CONS-6 for the recommend-
ed species and seeding rates.
Mulching: Grass hay will be used as a
mulch on the entire treated area. Blow
the mulch on at a rate of 4,000 pounds per
acre and then crimp it approximately
4-inches into the soil using a mulch
crimper or suitable Farm disc set straight
Timin The above operations should be
timed so as to allow for seeding of the
grasses and legumes before June 15th.
Management: All livestock and vehicle
use will be excluded on the treated area
until it is fully stabolized (minimum of
one complete growing season after planting
grasses). Provisions to control weed
growth will be made. Mechanical control
methods such as mowing weeds before seeds
are set will be considered.

ation Special consideration will be given for
Proce s waterfowl use on any areas of the re-
claimed pit that will contain permanently
ponded water. These areas will be pro-
tected from fire and grazing. Fences will
be constructed as necessary. Islands or
loafing sites will be considered where
feasible. These loafing islands will be
a minimum of 20-feet in diameter and at
least 30-feet from the shoreline. The
islands will be seeded to the same grass
and legume species as recommended for
the reclaimation of the pit.
