(a) Have a qualified archaeologist monitor initial <br />clearing of the land in the vicinity of locality SJA413; and <br />(b) Avoid vehicular impact to the two sites located <br />near the access road, SJA163 and SJA411. <br />Baseline data for the lands within the existing permitted <br />area of Pit 1 in Section 2 were not collected. At the time this <br />permit application was submitted, the coal reserves were mined out. <br />That is, the total existing permit area was already disturbed, <br />rendering the collection of baseline data and any meaningful <br />comparison to the pre-existing environment impractical. <br />2.04.5 General Description of Hydrology and Geology <br />(1) A description of the geology, surface and ground- <br />water systems, including water quality and quantity, of all lands <br />within the proposed permit area, the adjacent area, and the <br />general area is discussed in Appendix C. This description includes <br />information on the characteristics of all surface and groundwater <br />within the general area, and any water which will flow into or <br />receive discharges of water from the general area. Maps illustrating <br />these descriptions have been prepared in accordance with Secticn <br />2.10. <br />Furthermore, these descriptions have been prepared <br />according to Section 2.04.5 and 2.04.7 and conform to Sections <br />2.04.5(1)(a), (b), and (c). <br />(2) This permit application complies with Section <br />2.04.5(2). <br />(3) This permit application complies with Section <br />2.04.5(3). <br /> <br />-1$` <br />
