LEWIS FILLMORE (OWNER) <br />C/O SOUTHWAY CONSTRUCTION, CO.,INC., 5.8 MILES EAST OF <br />BOONE ADJACENT TO AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 96 <br />PURPOSE; <br />The apF~licant is requesting a special use permit to allow the <br />excavating and processing of sand and gravel, and a temporary <br />portable hot mix plant located in an A-1, Agricultural (minimum <br />40 acres) Zone District. Site contains 47.9 acres (Exhibit 1). <br />LOCATION <br />The property is located approximately 5.8 miles east of Boone <br />adjacent to and north of State Highway 96. The property is <br />descrit~ed as a portion of the SE 1/4, SE 1/4 of Section 24, and a <br />portion of the NE 1/4, NE 1/4 of Section 25, Township 21 South, <br />Range E~1 West, and a portion of the NW 1/4, NW 1/4 of Section 30, <br />Township 21 South, Range 60 west (Exhibit 2). <br />BACKGROUND <br />- Southway Construction Company currently has a lease with R. Lewis <br />- Fillmoce to excavate mineral on his land. The applicant requests <br />a permit to excavate, crush, screen, and sell gravel and sand <br />materials. The applicant also requests permission to establish a <br />temporary hot mix plant, to be located on the site during the <br />length of a paving project. <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND POLICIES <br />The Pueblo Re ional Com rehensive Develo ment Plan, Pueblo County <br />Plan lfap recommends the uture use of th s area to be "grazing <br />and other agricultural land uses.' The proposed mining operation <br />does not effect the character of this area. <br /> <br />
