I <br />~, <br />I <br />~ , <br />' , <br />I <br /> <br />EXHIBIT K <br />Climate <br />The azea exhibits a semi-azid climate typical of the central high plainer east of the <br />Rocky Mountains. The region is chazacterized by low himidity, low average precipitation <br />and a high percentage of sunshine. A large amount of the precipitation which occurs <br />falls during summer thunderstorm activity. <br />The four air masses which influence the region aze the wazm, moist mazitime <br />Pacific air which passes over the mountains to the west; cold, dry continental Arctic air <br />from Canada and Alaska; wazm, moist mazitime air from the Gulf of Mexico;, and warm, <br />dry continental air from the southwest and Mexico. <br />Climatological data for this region is contained in the previous 112 application for <br />the site. <br />
