~~~'"~~'q~~ 6.3.3 EXHIBIT C -MINING PLAN
~t;i '~ 8 7.I~tl~i
pi~ision of Reclamation,
my and Safety
The d'~tne of commencement shall be from August 1St, 2006 until approximately July 30w, 2025.
2. Where topsoil is removable (adequate thickness for removing topsoil) it will be scraped off and
placed on areas in the pit where mining operations have ceased and need to be reclaimed. When
topsoil will not be utilized immediately for reclamation, it will be stockpiled for later use for
reclamation. The balance of the reclamation will be implemented at the conclusion of the mining
activities, following the original application recommendation of the Soil Conservation District.
3. There is no overburden, thus six to eight inches of topsoil will be removed, segregated from the
gravel and salvaged. If there is not adequate topsoil, part of that will be mixed with the gravel in
order to support grass life.
4. The depth of the mining operation will be between 20 and 30 feet, with an average of 20 feet.
5. The proposed road to be used for the mining operation is southwest of the pit area, heading
southeast. It is approximately 250 feet long and 60 feet wide and is pre-existing.
6. There are no other significant disturbances to the land surface other than the previous and
proposed mining operations to be conducted. The area to be disturbed will be no more than
an acre at a time.
7. The haul road will be reclaimed upon completion of mining activities with the same type of
reclamation plan on the areas that have been mined. There are no known associated drainage
and runoff conveyance structures that would be necessary for this mining operation.
8. Water is not used in conjunction with this operation.
9. Groundwater will not be encountered, nor will surface water be intercepted or disturbed.
10.The nature of this operation will preclude the necessity of encountering conflict with Colorado
water laws and regulations.
11. There is no reason to believe that refuse and acid or toxic producing materials will be exposed in
this operation; however, if this does occur, the landfill supervisor will be contacted and the proper
procedures will be implemented through the guidance and recommendation of the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment - Hazmat Division.
12. Since the gravel mined will be utilized "as is" for county road maintenance, there will be no
additional processing. This operation will be strictly for digging for sand and gravel with no other
secondary, or incidental use.
13. The currently disturbed mining area within the permit will not change the mining plan, except that
only 5 acres at a time is the most that will be disturbed at one time. No additional stormwater
control measures should be needed. Revegetation will begin in the spring (of 2007) to stabilize
the area prior to re-mining those areas once this permit is approved.
