Mr. Joe Powell -2- September Z7, 1981
The acreage for this permit should include all acres currently being used for
the mining operation, as well as planned future acres up to 9.99. The hand-
drawn plot of the permit area should reflect this acreage. A fee of $25.00
plus $10/acre of affected land should also be paid to "Mined Land Reclamation".
No fee for this operation was ever paid.
Please read Rade Orell's letter carefully. It summarizes many of the items
still needed for completion of the permit application. I will elaborate
slightly on his letter. Your hand-drawn plot should also include topsoil
stockpile locations. Your baseline data under Exhibit D should also include
information on possible wildlife impacts. The Colorado Division of Wildlife
can provide you with this evaluation. Also, any water used in the operation
should be documented. The reclamation plan should also be updated and made
clearer. I am not sure exactly how Rade's comments relate to this, but your
new application materials will surely clarify this.
I think that this summarizes the situation. I will be expecting to hear from
you within the next 30 days concerning this matter.
Sincerely,
Mark S. Loye
Reclamation Specialist
MSL/mmt
Enclosures
