<br />EXHIBIT D <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />The reclamation of the affected land will be re-vegetated to restore the entire amount of <br />affected land to rangeland. The post mining land is consistent with adjacent land. Side <br />slopes will be no greater than 3: l and the floor of the mined area will be at a slope of no <br />less the one percent. Compacted areas will be ripped during reclamation and all excess <br />pit fines, pit waste material, and stockpiled overburden will be placed in a course directly <br />above the previously mined areas. Topsoil which was stockpiled; will be spread evenly <br />over the re-contoured site to a depth of 6 inches or more. The site will then be tilled and <br />firmed to prepare a suitable seed bed. Seeding will be done in accordance with the <br />recommendation of the Natural Resources Conservation Service. <br />A. The stockpiled overburden will be placed atop the pit floor and sides evenly and <br />contoured to accept the stockpiled topsoil. <br />B. Side slopes will be no greater than 3:1 and the floor of the mined area will be at a <br />slope of no less than one percent. <br />C. (i) Topsoil which was stockpiled, will be spread evenly over the re-contoured <br />site to a depth of 6 inches or more. <br />(ii) The site will be tilled and firmed to prepare a suitable seed bed. Seeding <br />of the site will be done in the late fall (October I5'" or later) prior to the <br />soil freezing. No fertilizer will be applied. <br />(iii) The following grass species will be used to reseed t he site. This rate is <br />based on pounds of pure live seed per acre. <br />SPECIE VARIETY POUNDS PLS/ACRE <br />Western wheatgrass Arriba 3.2 <br />Thickspike wheatgrass Critana 2.2 <br />Streambank wheatgrass Siberian 2.2 <br />Russian wildrye Vinal 2.0 <br />Crested wheatgrass Ephraim 2.0 <br />Total Pounds PLS/Acre 11.6 <br />(iv) Seed will be drilled with a grass drill having double disk openers and <br />packer wheels. Planting depth at approximately %z inch. <br />(v) Mulch is recommended with clean, weed free straw. Mulch must be <br />properly crimped into the soil with a disc or mulch crimper. <br />
