EXHIBIT D RECLAMATION PLAN The reclamation of the affected land will be re-vegetated to restore the entire amount of affected land to rangeland. The post mining land is consistent with adjacent land. Side slopes will be no greater than 3: l and the floor of the mined area will be at a slope of no less the one percent. Compacted areas will be ripped during reclamation and all excess pit fines, pit waste material, and stockpiled overburden will be placed in a course directly above the previously mined areas. Topsoil which was stockpiled; will be spread evenly over the re-contoured site to a depth of 6 inches or more. The site will then be tilled and firmed to prepare a suitable seed bed. Seeding will be done in accordance with the recommendation of the Natural Resources Conservation Service. A. The stockpiled overburden will be placed atop the pit floor and sides evenly and contoured to accept the stockpiled topsoil. B. Side slopes will be no greater than 3:1 and the floor of the mined area will be at a slope of no less than one percent. C. (i) Topsoil which was stockpiled, will be spread evenly over the re-contoured site to a depth of 6 inches or more. (ii) The site will be tilled and firmed to prepare a suitable seed bed. Seeding of the site will be done in the late fall (October I5'" or later) prior to the soil freezing. No fertilizer will be applied. (iii) The following grass species will be used to reseed t he site. This rate is based on pounds of pure live seed per acre. Planting depth at approximately %z inch. (v) Mulch is recommended with clean, weed free straw. Mulch must be properly crimped into the soil with a disc or mulch crimper.
