The terms and conditions of the permit are anticipated to be those normally
used in the Nationwide Permit system. CAMAS will apply for an NPDES permit as required
by the Water Quality Control Division (CCP#/I), and a copy of the discharge permit will be
supplied to the DMG when it is issued.
The proposed mining operation and aggregate plant do not use any chemicals or flocculants
in the process. There is no reason for water quality monitoring to be required of the
groundwater in the area. The proposed monitoring program for the water table is adequate
to protect the groundwater resources in the area.
Inventory of Lubricants and Oil Products to be Used or Stored on Site
#2 Diesel Fuel, Unleaded gasoline, Waste Oil, Hydraulic Oil, 15W-40W Oil, 30W Oil, Motor
Oil, Transmission Oil, and Miscellaneous Small Amounts of Other Lubricants, Solvents, and
Other Liquids used in the minor maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles, engines, and
other equipment.
' Description of On-Site Fueling Oil Storage Facilities and the Containment Area
' A 2,000 gallon steel tank for #2 diesel fuel, a 500 gallon steel tank for unleaded gasoline, and
a 500 gallon steel tank for waste oil will be located on-site in the Plant Site Area of the
property. These three tanks will be contained within a 24' wide x 28' long x 3' high 8" thick
' wall concrete vault area (CS#4). The total concrete involved will be approximately 15.9 cubic
yards of concrete.
1
1
1

1
1
Summary of Measures to be Implemented to Minimize Potential Impacts from Spills
A Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan for the site will be developed
and followed (CP#8) . At a minimurrt, the SPCC Plan will cover the following items: General
Information (Facility Information, Spilll History and Prediction of Potential Spills), Bulk
Storage Tanks, Facility Transfer Operations, Facility Loading and Unloading Operations,
Inspections and Records Security, Personnel Training, Spill Notifications and Reporting, Plan
Certification, and Site Plan Map. The SPCC Plan will serve as guideline for all CAMAS
Colorado employees involved in the handling, transfer, removal, or storage of oil materials
(petroleum, oil, lubricants, waste oils, etc.) stored and/or utilized at the facility and for
persons involved in the inspection of these storage areas. All fluid spills such as hydraulic and
oil from mainterance equipment shall be removed and disposed of at a facility permitted for
such disposal(CP#S) . The SPCC Plan will be certified by a Colorado Registered Professional
Engineer. The DMG will be provided a copy of the SPCC Plan prior to any operations
involving fuel or oil storage, fueling, or handling being undertaken on the site.
7
1
