Total cost to `reclaim the site when ..,mining is done, if
no reclamation is completed during mining, would include pit
bottom leveling and bank slopes at 3 to 1.
Pit bottom grading: 5 days at $500; day $2500.00
Eank slopes 3 to 1: 5 days at $500; day $250C.00
Optional seeding & fertilizer: $1000.00
Total reclamation costs $6000.OC
5. NOTICE PROCEDURES:
All notices have beer. forwarded to your office except
the owner of the sewage lagoon, and that certified receipt
in erclcsed. It should also be noted that Dave Erunovski,
o:rner of the lagoon, visited the site on May 16, 1992.
6. PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Sutton Comment: The nearest house of the subdivision Mrs.
Sutton speaks of is 600 feet from the south end of the
proposed operation, and is on the opposite side of the River
behind the 15' high gravel berm west of the River. It is
doubtful that the Peck operation will adversely affect those
homes in any way. Mrs. Sutton has not contacted Peck to
discuss this operation or visited the site with him.
Mrs. R. L. Elton, Jr. Comment: County Land Use Regulations
are County matters and all of these questions have been
answered by the Ouray County Commissioners in issuing a
Special Use Permit.
The problems with the Gibbs Operation south of the Peck
Pit are unrelated and should not be a concerr. of the Mined
Land Reclamation Division when considering the Peck Pit
operation.
Mrs. Eltcn's house is 1;2 mile from the operation. It
is doubtful she will experience any adverse affects from
this operation.
Wild. Nolan, Forsythe. Imhoff, Willard ~c:Cling Comments:
Under the heading Specific Deficiencies--
General: 404 permit discussion was covered previously
Highway access: The main route for access to an3 fros, this
location has already been approved by the State Highway
Department a number of years ago.
Ccunty permit: Already issued October 15, 190, reviewed
twice by Ouray County Commissioners and found ir. compliance.
Site Description: (1) Application is for 8 acres only
(2) Intersection of public roadway: The north access road
intersects the Sunshine Valley Ranch road at the Peck/Walz-
Walz property boundary. This road continues 1/2 mile due
north and intersects U.S. Highway 550. The south access
road intersects U.S. 550 1;4 mile due east of the Peck-Walz-
Cottonwood property line.
(3) See Item 1, this letter.
6
