Long <br />Division Director <br />Longmont, CO 80501 <br />RE :Milliken Site - 2nd Adequacy Review, File No. M-2000-087 <br />Deaz Ms. Ortiz: <br />r <br />The Division has reviewed your September 14, 2000 adequacy response for the above mentioned <br />Regulaz 112 permit application. Listed below are final adequacy review comments. The <br />comments aze listed in the same order as the same order as the Division's previous August 18, <br />2000 adequacy letter. Since the decision date for the application is September 28, 2000, the <br />Division would appreciate a response on or before September 26, 2000. <br />EXHIBIT D -MINING PLAN <br />2. The operator intends to be bonded for a maximum disturbance at any one time of 66 acres. <br />This is anticipated to occur during Phase 3 of the mining plan. Based on the acreages listed in <br />Exhibit L- Reclamation Cost table, it appeazs that there will be a disturbance of 60 acres. Please <br />clarify the maximum disturbance at any one time that the operator wishes to be bonded for. <br />4. The applicant states the following: "The operator will verify the average width and depths of <br />the slurry wall to be installed prior to mineral extraction. The sand and gravel extends to depths <br />of an average of 45 feet. The stability analysis assumed the average width of the slurry wall is <br />3.8 feet." Based on these projections, the Division requests that the operator incorporate the <br />following committments to the mining plan: 1) prior to mineral extraction, the operator will <br />verify and submit to the Division the average width and depth of the slurry wall to be installed, <br />and 2) if the slurry wall average depth will be greater than 48 feet (45' deposit + 3' keyed into <br />bedrock) and/or the slurry wall average width will be less than 3.8 feet, the operator will submit a <br />revised reclamation cost and/or stability analysis as deemed necessary by the Division. <br />8. The applicant has provided a representative cross sectional design of the slurry wall <br />construction, design standazds, and a narrative of the construction methods to be used to <br />construct the slurry wall. In addition, the Division requests that the operator submit within 60 <br />
