' • If drilling is not the meth~of seed
placement then rates are to be tripled.
The seed mix will be applied by a seed drill in the late
fall (usually late September or October). Use of a seed drill
will ensure adequate seed depth for over wintering; late fall
planting will ensure maximization of spring moisture and that
only the hardiest seed will establish, and minimize pre-emergent
mortality of warm season grasses.
Due to the use of manure it is quite possible that popula-
tions of annual weeds like pig weed (Amaranthus albus), Wild
' sunflower (Helianthus spp.) and others may become part of the
population. If these weeds become a problem (greater than 15"a of
the population as estimated by Soil Conservation Service or MLRB
Staff Members) a weed control method will be used to inhibit the
' spread of these pests. Only state and federally approved chemi-
cals will be applied.
Fire lanes are not required. No delays in planting are
' expected due to refuse placement and no adverse surface
characteristics are anticipated.

1
1
1
1

1

1
1
9
