EXHIBIT I
SOILS INFORDiATION
The area of the proposed quarry site consists mostly
of rock outcrops on very steep slopes with nondelineated soil
inclusions that are generally stony or gravelly. Also included are.
limestone talus areas and small pockets of shallow and very shallow
soils. No sediment data is available for the area, but there appears
to be little erosion that would contribute sediment to the Colorado
River.
Topsoil throughout the area is rated as poor. Since
the texture of the soil is generally gravelly clay loam and its
permeability is slow to moderate, its stability rating is generally
poor. However, with the surface formation consisting of extensive
limestone outcrop areas, the flood hazzard is minimal.
See Attachment #1 to this Exhibit for soils map, soils
characteristics, and soils use suitability obtained from the Soil
Conservation Service for the area of the proposed quarry.
