Seams, are mineable. Coal in the other six seams is thin and limited in areal
extent. In the revised mine plan, only D Seam coal will be mined in the lease
COC 51551 portion of the proposed LMU. The B Seam coal in lease COC 51551
is determined to be unrecoverable. However, a decline from the D-Seam East
Mains in the new lease COC 51551 may be developed to the B-Seam to the west
of the East Mains to facilitate mining of the B Seam. This is contingent upon
future exploration showing mineable B Seam coal in the azea west of the new
lease COC 51551. Should this prove feasible, some of the B Seam coal in the
lease COC 51551 will be recovered. Pleasc refer to Section 4.3 of R2P2 for
further details. Section 4:L of the R2P2 discusses how the D and B Seams will
be mined on an LMU basis. Such mining, and hence maximization of economic
recovery, would not be possible if it was carried on an individual lease basis since
advantage could not be taken of optimum mine development, room-and-pillaz and
-ongwall panel sizes, transportation and material handling.
(5) Any other information required by the authorized officer.
If additional information is required, please contact Don L.
