File No. Ih-87-186
Section 2?, T12N. Rb~W, bTH P.M.
Water Division 1, blater District 1
We have reviewed the above refierenced mining permit application per
your request of October 23, 1991. The application is to conduct
surface mining and reclamation. The applicant proposes to mine
gravel and reclaim the area.
The permit application claims that no groundwater will be
encountered. Reclamation will be accomplished by reseeding the
disturbed area. Water for dust control is t^ be hauled by truck
from either stack ponds, springs or the county shop in Greeley.
While we can recommend approval of this operation, we would like to
point out that ifi process water is obtained from sources other than
the county shop, the operator may be using water for non-decreed
uses which may be in violation of existino water laws.
We have previously reviewed this proposal as a submittal from the
Weld County Planning Department. A copy of our response to the
county is attached.
Should you have anv additional questions, please contact this
office.
cc: Alan Berryman, Division Engineer
Mavbel Cunning, Water Commissioner
