Exhibit C - Mining Plan
Th
G
ld Li
Mi
k
i
e
o
n
s
ne
s situated in the Gold Creek Mining District
' about five miles north of Ohio City in the central portion of eastern
Gunnison County. The mine dates from the turn-of-the-century and consists
t of a tunnel, large waste rock dump, old mill, and various old bunk houses
and outbuildings. Most of the historic buildings on site, including the
old mill
are in an advanced stat
of disre
v
i
h
b
ti
ll
,
e
pa
r or
e
een par
a
a
y
' dismantled. Much old timber and and other debris is scattered around the
site from the historic operations.
' Mining will consist of using the existing Gold Links Tunnel to remove
ore from the underground workings. Additionally, the plan would
incorporate the possibl removal of a portion of the existing waste rock
' dump.
Ore from the tunnel will be brought to the surface using electric tram
carts powered by rechargeable batteries, or by diesel trammers. Tracks are
in place from previous operations to facilitate the use of an electric ore
trammer so that this method of removing ore from the mine will probably be
the method used initially, and possibly used throughout the life of the
'
operation. Ore will be dumped in a temporary stockpile/loadout area on a
1 flat portion of the existing mine bench prior to being trucked from the
site to a mill for processing. The Exhibit E2 map included herein
' illustrates the location of ore loadout and various other features of the
affected area.
It is expected that minor amounts of additional waste rock will be
' produced from the mine. The underground workings extend back into the
mountain about 4,200± feet and it would be generally uneconomical to bring
1
-16-
