<br />PIONEER MINE - Douglas County \// <br />Y <br />~// <br />EXHIBIT A - Legal Description <br />Nq of SW; of Section 35 and that <br />part of NEQ of SEa of Section 34 <br />which lies east of State Highway <br />No. 83, T6S, R66W, of 6th P.M. in <br />Douglas County. <br />EXHIBIT B - Mining Plan <br />The Robinson Brick and Tile Company has owned this property <br />since 1961. This is an open pit clay mine and the clay bed lies <br />horizontal and the core drilling indicates the clay vein to be <br />about thirty feet thick with an average of ten feet of overburden. <br />The clay pit was started at the highway and advanced in a north <br />and west direction, following the clay vein. Mining will end at <br />the north property line. At the present time we are open pit <br />mining on approximately six acres with an HD-11 Cat and stock- <br />piling the clay. The overburden and waste material is pushed <br />aside to be used later as fill. The overburden will be sloped <br />and shaped to 1:1 grade to conform with the surrounding land. <br />There are no highwalls at this site. <br />EXHIBIT C - Map <br />See attached. <br />EXHIBIT D -Wildlife, Water Resources, Vegetation and Soils Information <br />Wildlife Species: Coyote, <br />Cottontail Rabbits, Jackrabbits, <br />birds (seasonal). <br />Fox, Badger, Deer, Small Rodents, <br />Skunk, Magpies, Raptors, song- <br />Water Resources: No available water except for rain and snow- <br />fall. <br />Vegetation: Native grass, Cactus, Soapweed, Brush and Gambel <br />Oak . <br />Soils: This soil is a sandy, gravelly loam. The surface layer <br />is a dark brown sandy loam about 8 inches thick. The subsoil is <br />reddish-brown and weak-red clay about 24 inches thick. Weak-red, <br />soft sandstone and shale are at a depth of about three feet. These <br />soils have slow permeability and moderate available water capacity. <br />- 1 - <br />
