SlE= ~o/. _ <br />.10 MAPS AND PLANS <br />• Rule 2.10.1 -General Requirements <br />~oc D~ ~Z/JJ~o~ <br />999 <br />Maps submitted with applications shall be presented in a consolidated format and shall legibly detail all of <br />the information set forth on topographic maps of the U. S. Geological Survey of the I :24,000 scale series. <br />(I) Maps of the permit area shall be a[ a scale of 1:6,000 or larger, if requested by [he Division or by <br />the operator with the approval of the Division. <br />(2) Maps of the remainder of the area to be affected over the estimated life of the operations and the <br />adiacent areas shall clearly show the lands and waters within [hose areas and be at a scale determined by the <br />Division, which in no case shall be smaller than 1:24,000 unless approved by the Division. <br />(3) All maps shall show th~ermi[ area boundaries. <br />RESPONSE <br />All maps submitted with this permit revision application legibly detail all the information set forth on <br />topographic maps of the U.S. Geological Survey of the 1:24,000 scale series. The maps of the permit area <br />and adjacent areas clearly show the lands and waters within these areas. All maps show the permit area <br />boundary. <br />During a telephone conference held on July 24, 1984 between Ed Bishoff and Larry Damrau, i[ was <br />• determined maps with the scale of I :12,000 adequately represent the depicted items within the permit area <br />and as such, are acceptable for approval in accordance with Rule 2.10.1(2). <br />Rule 2.10.2 -permit and Adjacent Areas <br />One nth and plan submitted with the application shall distineuish among each of the phases during <br />which surface coal mining operations were or will be conducted at any place within the permit area and adiacent <br />area. At a minimum, distinctions shall be clearly shown amone those portions of [he permit area and adiacent <br />areas in which surface coal mining operations occurred: <br />(I) Prior to AUQmst 3, 1977; <br />(2) After August 3, 1977, and prior [o either: <br />(a) Mav 3, 1978, or <br />(b) In the case of an applicant or permittee which obtained a small operator's exemption in <br />accordance with [he interim Federal regulatory pro¢ram, January I. 1979: <br />(3) After Mav 3, 1978 (or January I, 1979, for persons who received a small operator's exemption) <br />and prlOr [O Ilte appfOVal Of the 3pp11Cah1e regUlatOrV Program: amd <br />(4) After the estimated date of issuance of a permit by the Division. <br /> <br />MR 97-154 2.10-I Revised 9/10/97 <br />
