Long <br />Dieision Director <br />Re: Whinnery Pit, New File No. M-98-055, 110 Construction Materials Permit Application. <br />Dear Mrs. Whinnery, <br />I have completed my preliminary adequacy review of the above-named permit application. The <br />application was found to be complete on June 30, 1998, which you should have been notified <br />about by separate letter. That letter should have informed you to publish notice of your <br />application in a newspaper of general circulation in your county (Gunnison). This letter describes <br />the concerns and questions we have, based on a review of the technical adequacy of the contents <br />of the application form and attached exhibits. I have listed my questions below in the order of the <br />application item or exhibit to which they pertain. I have already discussed some of these issues <br />with Ms. Eastin of Tuttle Applegate, Inc., who prepared the materials in the first submittal. I am <br />including all items herein, for the record, even though she is already correcting some of the <br />materials. <br />Application form heading, page 1 <br />This is a new application, and not an application for a conversion. I have manually corrected this <br />item by striking through "Conversion" and then checking "New Application." (One may not <br />convert or transfer 111 permits.) Additionally, there is a new file number assigned to [his <br />application: M-98-055. (Once approved, it will replace existing permit number M-92-103.) I feel <br />that these items do not need further attention with these corrections. If this manner of correcting <br />these items is not satisfactory with you, please let me know. <br />Application item #9, page 2 <br />The location information for the permit area notes that it lies within parts of two sections (35 and <br />36), though the blanks for the quarter section and quarter quarter section appear to pertain to only <br />one of the noted sections. The location, as correctly verified by Exhibits A and B which follow, is <br />SE1/4 SE1/4 Section 35, SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Section 36. No further clarification is needed from you, <br />
