I have also read that CAM will
be using mostly local construction companies and construction workers.
The BLM should highlight this and acknowledge in the draft EIS the
potential ramifications of this construction to the regional economy. In order
to complete the construction, CAM will have to use the services of water
t haulers; cement specialist; safety personnel; construction firms; and heavy
equipment companies to name a few.
Also if the mine is under construction not only will money come into the
community from the construction but from the construction workers. The
majority of individuals working to build the mine will need to live in
surrounding areas. This means they will be paying taxes that will come back
to this community; it means they will be buying merchandise in our local
stores.
The EIS needs to include the potential multiplier for how many local
companies could be positively affected by the new mine.
Thanks,
i" `~~~ ~
att Ghiloni
1235 Kennedy Ave.
Grand Jct., CO 81501
