I would like to take this time to talk about the positive ramifications of
the mine.
Each year millions of dollars are returned tc Mesa County through
severance taxes. In FY204S the Departmed of Local Affairs returned
$2, ?83,640.30 to Mesa County and its municipalities through severance tax
direct distribution. In F1~ 200b, that number has more than doubled.
If the coo! mine was place in Loma, the majority of the workers would live in
Mesa County thus adding to the overall severance tas received 6Y the area
This is money that our area could utilize.
The F.IS needs to include, under the socioeconomic section, how much Mesa
County could get in severance taxes as well as Energy and Mineral Impact
Assistance awards after the completion of the Red Cliff mine.
Sincerely,
NDN ~ aNYQ
PZtBm~41T ,
Ai~roisi,l/r tRtB&0
43r0'i3A91G4 . ~ ±
~._

w
I~
~,
