RE: Bedrock Mine; File No. M-97-086; Informal Conference Request
Dear Mr. Johnson:
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is in the process of reviewing Siloam Stone's 112
construction materials application to mine building and landscape stone at their proposed Bedrock Mine.
The Division has received letters from individuals objecting to approval of this application. Therefore, in
accordance with Rule 1.4.6 and 1.7 (see attached) of the Construction Materials Rules and Regulations of
the Mined Land Reclamation Board, an informal conference has been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on
December 15, 1997 at the Pueblo County Planning and Zoning Office. This office is located at 1120
Court Street and the receptionist will be able to direct you to the hearing room which is located on the
second Floor.
At the informal conference, each person objecting to approval of the application will be able to present
their grounds for objecting, and the applicant and anyone else supporting approval of this application will
have time to present information supporting the issuance of a permit. Any interested person may
participate in the Informal Conference by simply submitting written comments or by appearing in person.
Please be advised that any additional issues raised orally, that were not previously submitted in writing,
by any party at the Informal Conference, shall be submitted in writing to the Division by such party within
five (5) working days after the informal conference.
In addition, the Division will report on the status of the permit review and discuss the remainder of the
